New Zealand end their 10-match losing streak by beating India by 58 runs in Group A of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai, UAE, with captain Sophie Devine scoring a fifty in their total of 160-4.
India are among the favourites to win their first T20 title but were bowled out for 102 in reply.
Both sides face a stiff test in their group alongside holders Australia, Asian champions Sri Lanka, and rivals Pakistan, who shocked the Sri Lankans, on Thursday with a 31-run win in Sharjah.
Australia are record six-time winners of the competition and are overall favourites to claim a seventh title.
