CALGARY - As of 1:05 pm today, the City of Calgary has activated its Municipal Emergency Response Plan (MEP) in response to the emergency and non-emergency calls regarding high winds.

Please note the following road closures are as follows: Downtown core (9Avenue South, North to the River; and 3 Street to 11 street SE) and Deerfoot Trail Northbound at Seton Blvd. Vehicle traffic and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area.

Residents in high rise buildings are encouraged to secure their barbecues and other furniture on balconies. Ensure to turn off the propane and disconnect and shut off the gas line, if it is a gas hook-up.
